Abstract


The purpose of social studies to develop good citizen has not been obtained in the most of Islamic Elementary School in Semarang. Learning from the implementation of social studies under props and media rarely learning as well as social work and social activity. The process of teaching and learning in Islamic Elementary School is still considered learning a tedious or as lesson that software. The social participation is extremely important for all students as a candidate of professional teacher. Strategy to development skills of social participation for teacher candidate will be more adept as a teacher of social studies and as good citizen and skills in the community. The main focus of this research is strategic learning social studies of Islamic Elementary School in developing social participation. This research aims to familiarized teachers candidate use props and the media of learning in the subject of social studies at Islamic Elementary School. Research benefits can be used to prepare Islamic Elementary School Teacher Training laboratory. This is case study research, data collection method by means of observation and interview. Data analysis uses a method of comparative-constant. This research produced props and learning media made by student of Teacher Training at Islamic Elementary School when they learned social studies at Islamic Elementary School. The results of research used to draw up a laboratory of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Training. It is concluded that student of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Training produce props and learning media as well as composing in laboratory as a form of social work or social participation. It is recommended that the Islamic Elementary School Teacher Training laboratory need to be further refined.
