Abstract


Duwet is a original fruit of Indonesia, oval, purple, sour, sweet, astringent. These characteristics
Duwet contains several compounds containing antioxidant. Duwet had bioactive potential as a
source of natural antioxidants and subsequently as a functional food and food supplements.
Research carried out by stages include sample preparation.
Extraction of bioactive components. Measure of antioxidant activity. Sample preparation is done by
making powdered fruit. Peel of duwet. Whole (meat and skin) and flesh. Extraction of bioactive
compounds in various solvents are provided in the form of a solution and dry extract. Parameters
include total polyfenol, tannin levels, total flavonoid, anthocyanin concentration and vitamin C. The-carotene / linoleic acid, while the free radical scavenging
activity measured by DPPH method. The results showed that the fruit contains components bioaktive of duwet, with the peel of the fruit by producing bioactive compounds better than most part .the best extraction is used methanol.
