Abstract


Language learning doesn’t only learn the structure of language, but also the culture spoken by the users of the language. By understanding the culture of the language being studied, learners will be able to use language ​such as a native speaker. In BIPA learning teaching materials based on local wisdom not only encourage learners to communicate practically, but also increase understanding of Indonesian culture deeply. Positive cultural values ​​taught to BIPA students are expected to be able to enhance the positive image of Indonesia in the international world as a tool of cultural diplomacy. Therefore, teaching materials based on local wisdom in BIPA teaching are constantly being developed. Although the teaching materials used in BIPA teaching have been widely available, the teaching materials have not revealed the Indonesian culture as a whole because it only highlights a number of Indonesian regions, such as Bali, Java and Sulawesi so that BIPA students only know these regions. In fact, Indonesian culture is very rich from Sabang to Merauke which has its own characteristics. Therefore, this paper examines the development of BIPA teaching materials based on Kalimantan local wisdom which are rarely exposed, specifically the special characteristics of Kalimantan local wisdom and examines the BIPA teaching materials based on Kalimantan local wisdom which are integrated in integrated teaching materials.
