Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran Word square terhadap hasil belajar IPA materi perubahan energi kelas IV SDN 02 Kabupaten Kendal tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Meggunakan desain penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 02 Lumansari yang terdiri dari 25 siswa. Sampel yang diambil adalah 25 siswa, yaitu semua anggota populasi menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan: tes, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian, hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Word square, menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata hasil pretest dan posttest. Rata-rata hasil pretest sebesar 56,924 dan rata-rata posttest sebesar 74,788. Analisis uji t, bahwa diperoleh thitung> ttabel yaitu 5,649 > 2,064. Dan hasil uji ketuntasan siswa diperoleh hasil pretest dengan 5 siswa yang tuntas belajar atau 20% dan 20 siswa yang belum tuntas atau 85% dan hasil posttest dengan 25 siswa tuntas atau 88% dan terdapat 3 siswa yang belum tuntas atau 12%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran Word square efektif terhadap hasil belajar IPA materi perubahan energi pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 02 Lumansari Kecamatan Gemuh Kabupaten Kendal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini saran yang dapat disampaikan adalah supaya model pembelajaran Word Square dapatdigunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif guru dalam mengajar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the effectivity of Word Square Learning Model towards result in studying Natural Science with the material The Energy Changes from grade IV students in SD Negeri 02 Kendal, 2016/2017 academic year. Using experimental research design. The population of this study is taken from all of grade IV students in SD Negeri 02 Lumansari that contain of 25 students, all the population using sampling saturated technique. The data of this study are obtained through the test, observation, interview and documentation. Based on the result of analysis of research data, student learning outcomes of experimental class that get treatment by using the model of Word Square learning model shows the average difference in the pretest and posttest result. The result of pretest is about 56,924 and posttest is about 74,788. The analysis of t test is obtained tcount > ttable are 5,649 > 2,064. The result the student completeness test  is obtained the pretest result with 5 students are complete leaning or 20% and 20 students are incomplete or 85% and the posttest result  with 25 students are complete or 88% and get 3 students are incomplete or 12%. It can be conclude that the Word Square learning model is effective toward the result in studying Natural Science with the material the energy changes of grade IV students in SD Negeri 02 Lumansari, Gemuh, Kendal. According of this study, the teachers are expected to apply the Word Square leaning model as one of the alternative in learning activity.
