Artikel ini hadir dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa persoalan yang mengindikasikan perlunya peningkatan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian guru sebagai ujung tombak pengelola pendidikan di lapangan. Namun, peran yang sangat besar ini tidak diimbangi dengan pembekalan yang matang terhadap dua kompetensi ini bagi persiapan calon guru yang profesional. Dari jumlah 163 SKS yang dipelajari, maka hanya 26 SKS yang diberikan jatah untuk membentuk kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian. Berarti hanya 16 % proporsi mata kuliah untuk dua kompetensi ini. Maka atas ini, perlu upaya mandiri tapi terencana untuk meningkatkan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian guru, diantaranya melalui program pengajian untuk guru di sekolah. Artikel ini dirumuskan dengan mengggunakan pendekatan library reseacrh. Ada dua hal pokok yang dikaji yaitu pertama, analisis kebutuhan program pengajian terhadap peningkatan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian guru. Kedua, rumusan tujuan dan konten program pengajian terhadap peningkatan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian guru.

Abstract: This article comes backed by a number of issues that indicate the need for increased social competence and teacher personality as the spearhead of education managers in the field. However, this enormous role is not matched by a mature debriefing of these two competencies for the preparation of a professional teacher candidate. Of the 163 SKSs studied, only 26 credits were granted to form social competence and personality. Means only 16% of the proportion of courses for these two competencies. So on this, it needs an independent but planned effort to improve the social competence and personality of teachers, such as through pengajian programs for teachers in schools. This article is formulated by using the reseacrh library approach. There are two main subjects that are studied first, the analysis of the needs of the study program on improving social competence and teacher personality. Second, the objective formulation and content of the study program on improving the social competence and teacher's personality.
