PEMANFAATAN TEKNOLOGI DALAM PENDIDIKAN SIAGA BENCANA

Abstract


Indonesia memiliki tingkat risk bencana yang tinggi disebabkan hazards dan vulnerability yang tinggi. Risk dapat dikurangi melalui program pengurangan risiko bencana dengan penurunan vulnerability melalui pendidikan siaga bencana. Pendidikan siaga bencana dapat diberikan kepada siswa sejak usia dini melalui pemanfaatan teknologi. Tulisan ini akan menggambarkan penerapan pemanfaatan tekonologi program 3D Earthquake bagi siswa Sekolah Dasar dalam pendidikan siaga bencana gempa bumi. Program 3D Earthquake memanfaatkan data penginderaan jauh satelit dan sistem informasi geografis. Melalui program 3D Earthquake siswa dapat mempelajari istilah teknis gempa, lokasi gempa, kesejarahan gempa di Indonesia, kekuatan gempa, dampak gempa dan persiapan menghadapi gempa bumi. Melalui program 3D Earthquake sebagai bentuk pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan siaga bencana diharapkan siswa menjadi lebih siap dalam menghadapi bencana dan sekaligus sebagai agen perubahan. Program 3D Earthquake sebagai metode pendidikan siaga bencana sesuai untuk karakteristik siswa yang termasuk pada generasi z atau alpha. Pemanfaatan program 3D Earthquake untuk pendidikan siaga bencana didiskusikan lebih lanjut.

Abstract: Indonesia has a high level of disaster risk due to high hazards and vulnerability. Risk can be reduced through disaster risk reduction programs with decreased vulnerability through disaster awareness education. Disaster awareness education can be provided to early age students through the use of technology. This paper will illustrate the application of technology utilization through 3D Earthquake program for elementary school students in earthquake disaster awareness education. The Earthquake 3D program utilizes remote satellite sensing data and geographic information systems. Through 3D Earthquake program, students can learn the technical terms of earthquake, earthquake location, earthquake historic in Indonesia, earthquake strength, earthquake impact and earthquake preparation. Through the 3D Earthquake program as a form of technology utilization in disaster preparedness education, students are expected to be better prepared in the face of disaster and also as agent of change. The Earthquake 3D program as a disaster preparedness education method is appropriate for student characteristics that belong to z or alpha generation. Utilization of the Earthquake 3D program for disaster preparedness education is discussed further.
