Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurang optimalnya pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru di SDN Pendrikan Lor 01 Semarang. Permasalahan ini berawal dari kurangnya kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas II. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah metode bercerita menggunakan media boneka tangan tergolong efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita pada sub tema kebersamaan di tempat wisata kelas II. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian posttest-only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas II yang diambil, yaitu siswa kelas II A dan kelas II B dengan total 51 siswa menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Berdasarkan hasil posttest siswa setelah mengalami perlakuan dimana hasil uji t diketahui bahwa nilai t_hitung = 13,612 dan nilai t_tabel = 2,010. Dikarenakan t_hitung> t_tabel,maka, H_o ditolak dan H_a diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode bercerita menggunakan media boneka tangan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita pada sub-tema kebersamaan di tempat wisata siswa kelas II SDN Pendrikan Lor 01 Semarang.

Abstract: This research was based on the teacher didn’t teach optimally in the learning at SDN Pendrikan Lor 01 Semarang. This problem started from the low ability of telling story of the second graders. This research had purpose to find out whether telling story method using handed-doll media was effective to increase telling story ability at sub theme of togetherness in receation place of the second graders. The type of research was quantitative with posttest-only control design. Population of research was the second graders taken from the students of II A and II B with total 51 students by total sampling technique. Based one the result of posttest of the students after implementation where the result of t test known that the score of t_count = 13,612 and t_table = 2,010. Because of t_count > t_table, so, H_o was rejected and H_a was accepted. It could be concluded that telling story using handed-doll media was effective to increase the ability of telling story at sub-theme of togetherness in recreation place of the second graders in SDN Pendrikan Lor 01 Semarang.
