Abstract


The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of contextual teaching learning learning models on learning outcomes in terms of high concept understanding. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population of this study were all students of class VIII SMP N 1 Sayung in the academic year 2017/2018. Samples from this study are class VIII G, VIII I and obtained using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are test methods and documentation. The data analysis technique used is two t test, one t test and regression correlation test with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study were obtained: (1) There were differences in learning outcomes between students using the contextual teaching learning learning model and conventional learning models (2) Students' mathematics learning outcomes using learning models contextual teaching learning which had a high understanding of concepts than conventional learning models understanding of the concept is high, (3) There is a correlation between students' understanding of concepts in contextual teaching learning on learning outcomes.
