Abstract


Nation’s character education to shape one's personality through education, the results are seen in a person's action, which is good behavior, honest, responsible, respecting the rights of others, hard work, and so on. This research has the objective to determine the character of the nation's education outreach in elementary school and to find and apply a model socialization of national character education based on environmental in elementary schools. Subjects of this Research and Development were students in grade 2 and 5 SDN Sekaran and students in grade 2 and 5 SD N 2 Ngijo. The data source used was the subject of research, informants, and documents. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. Analysis of data using qualitative research phases according to Spradley. While in checking the validity of the data using data triangulation technique. The results showed that the socialization of the nation's character education in elementary done in three ways, namely, integrated with a wide range of subjects, through habituation models, and through extracurricular activities. Implementation of the model of nation’s character education outreach in elementary school environment can be quite effective. This is evidenced by the change in attitude of the students based on the results of the assessment instruments, observations, and interviews. Constraint is that to change the attitudes of students need a long process and a long time. Limitations time of study at school resulting in weak oversight that teachers do. The conclusion is that the success of character education in elementary school is determined by the participation of all parties, namely the family, school and community.
