Purwoceng (Pimpinella pruatjan Molk) is a commercial plant medicinal herb as an aphrodisiac, diuretic and tonic. Plants purwoceng an expensive commodity that is much sought after, especially by the herbal industry. Purwoceng is a plant native to Indonesia with limited distribution so that the necessary effort to preserve the excessive exploitation without offset by conservation efforts caused purwoceng plants become scarce. Purwoceng is one of the medicinal plants in Indonesia are classified into endangered plants because the population is very little. Research on plant cultivation purwoceng still rarely done because it only grows in certain regions and altitude. This research was conducted to determine a good planting medium in the nursery purwoceng at the Center for Research and Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine by using a randomized block design method Complete with one factor that is kind of seeding media. Purwoceng nursery seedlings using four kinds of medium volcano dusty, compost, volcano dusty + compost (1: 1) and volcano dusty + soil + compost (1: 1: 1). The results showed nursery purwoceng with compost medium obtained the best results with an average number of 8.33 leaves strands, the average number of stems of 8.33 cm and an average stem length of 5.36 cm with green leaf color.
