Abstract


This  action  research  attempts  to  improve  teacher’s  classroom  teaching effectiveness  for  the  physical education subject.  The 21st century learning demands on student centered learning. However, previous studies have found that most teachers still use conventional approaches. The conventional method is seen to cause inactive learning less student involvement in learning activities. Flipped classroom method also using technology as a medium for teaching and learning (PDP). This research has been conducted on 34 Year 5 students by using the flipped classroom method. The objective of flipped classroom method is to increase student’s encouragement in learning, motivate them and also to increase the effectiveness of the teacher’s teaching method.  There are three types of instruments was used. There were observation, survey and field notes. Observation was carried out throughout the teaching and  learning using the observation sheet list.  Field notes was carried out to determines the student’s behavior before and after flipped classroom implemented. Survey (questionare) was carried out during the first and last flipped classroom method implemented. These are the main data sources to gain insight into  the effectiveness of teacher’s teaching strategies from the usage of flipped classroom method. Findings indicates that student’s encouragement, interest, motivation, interaction, involment and feeling were increased after flipped classroom was conducted. For the future research, multiple factors should be considered together so that flipped classroom method can be conduct perfectly which are technology, the way of thoughts and skills
