Abstract


This research is motivated their students in writing poetry difficulties because teacher simply using common methods such as lectures, question and answer method, and the method of exercise and not using appropriate instructional media material. In addition, students are still difficult to express what is in their mind to put in the from of poetry.

The problems revealed in this study is “whether through the use of the surrounding environment as the media can increase the skills of writing poetry class V students of SD Negeri Pleburan 01 Semarang?”. The purpose of this study was to answer the problem formulation is “to know the results of students of class V SD Negeri 01 Semarang Pleburan on learning to write poetry from the use of the surrounding environment as a medium”.

This type of research is classroom action research collaboration. Research subjects are students of class V SD Negeri Pleburan 01 Semarang academic year 2016/2017 with the number of 33 students. Retrieval of data using observation, testing, documentation, and interviews. Data collection tools used were observation sheet, interview guides, and a test sheet. Data analysis using descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive.
