This research is motivated by a shift in the moral values ​​of the nation Indonesia is happening at the moment such as free sex, and violence. Folklore is one form of literature that can be used as a means to instill moral values ​​in children. Moral values ​​contained in folklore can be seen as a way to instill moral values ​​specific teaching given through the attitudes and behavior of the characters.

The problem in this research is "What are the Moral Values ​​contained in Folklore Indonesia Sabang-Merauke works of Joseph Kristianto?" Goals to be achieved in this research is to determine the moral values ​​and describing the moral values ​​contained in Folklore Indonesia Sabang-Merauke works YusupKristianto.

The research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collected by interview, documentation, and refer to the note. Checking the validity of the data by increasing persistence and triangulation of sources. Data were analyzed using data reduction, a data display, conclusion drawing.

Sources of data in this study is the book Cerita Rakyat Indonesia Sabang-MeraukeKristiantoYusup works published in 2010. Based on the analysis of research, there is a religious value of 37.5%, 57.5% sociality, Geder 7.5%, equity 10%, 10% democracy, honesty 22, 5%, 10% self-sufficiency, fighting spirit and 22.5%, tanggunngjawab 10%, and 5% appreciation of the environment.
