Abstract

Low math problem-solving ability of students in math lessons and using lesson model that is less suitable with the material. Therefore, the use of the model in learning must be adapted to the material and need to develop students' math problem-solving skills in order to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning using Cognitive Growth model and Problem Based Instruction Mind Mapping assisted learning model on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The population of this study is the students of grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Trangkil academic year 2017/2018. The sampling using cluster random sampling technique to obtain three classes at random. The design of this research is Posttest-Only Control Design. The data obtained through the test results of the description then processed with ANOVA test, Scheffer test, completeness test studied with t-test one side right and simple linear regression test. The result of the analysis shows that (1) there are differences in students' math problem-solving skills using Cognitive Growth-assisted Mind Mapping learning model, Problem Based Instruction-assisted Mind Mapping model and conventional learning model. (2) Mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who use Mind Mapping-assisted learning models Mind Mapping is no better than conventional learning models. (3) students' math problem-solving abilities using Problem Based Instruction-assisted Mind Mapping learning model is better than the conventional learning model. (4) learning Cognitive Growth assisted by Mind Mapping and Problem Based Instruction learning with Mind Mapping achievement of KKM. (5) there is a correlation between activity and problem-solving of student mathematics that is equal to 10% for the class that gets learning model Cognitive Growth assisted Mind Mapping and 26% for the class that gets model of Problem Based Instruction Study with Mind Mapping aid.
