Abstract


The deaf students are students who have barriers to hearing is permanent or not. Although it has flawsbut they also require education, namely special education where the learning process is used in reference to the framework of general education for all student. One of the subjects which are also taught for students of specialty is mathematics with a branch of the science of geometry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of mathematics learning of student with hearing impaiment in understanding mathematics on the Van Hiele theory. This study was conducted in SMPLB Negeri Bima city, the subject of this study were students with hearing impairment of class VIII SMPLB Negeri Bima city. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data analysis according to Milles dan Hubbarman. The instrument used in this study are test and observation sheet. The result of the research show that the student understand the lesson are at the visualization, the students were able to identify the shape geometry based on the physical.
