Abstract

Advance calculus is one of the compulsory subjects in mathematics education courses that weighs 3 credits. This course aims to equip students about certain integral concepts, integral applications, and indeterminate integrals. Besides that, further calculus especially on integral application materials, students are expected to be able to use their imagination to describe the problems faced and then solve them. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the ICT based Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach in advanced calculus courses. The effectiveness of the research is (1) the improvement of ICT based approach based (PBL) approach to completeness, (2) the improvement of mean learning outcomes significant between before and after the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach based on ICT in advanced calculus courses.
This research is an experimental research with a sample of student of Mathematics Education Study Program IKIP Veteran Central Java. The results of this study indicate that at the time of learning should lecturers apply Problem Based Learning approach (PBL) based on ICT in advanced calculus courses to improve students imagination when solving problems.
