Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar pada siswa kelas V SD. Hj Isriati Baiturrahman 1 Semarang. Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) atau Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBM) adalah model pengajaran yang bercirikan adanya permasalahan nyata sebagai konteks untuk para peserta didik belajar berfikir kritis dan keterampilan memecahkan masalah serta memperoleh pengetahuan. Model PBL berfokus pada penyajian suatu permasalahan (nyata atau simulasi) kepada siswa, kemudian siswa diminta mencari pemecahannya melalui serangkaian penelitian dan investigasi berdasarkan teori, konsep, prinsip yang dipelajarinya dari berbagai bidang ilmu (multiple perspective). Teori belajar yang mendukung bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) cocok diterapkan di sekolah dasar yaitu teori penemuan Jerome Brunner yang dikenal dengan belajar penemuan. Karakteristik dalam model ini sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar, dengan keunggulan dan kekurangannya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif terhadap hasil belajar pada siswa sekolah dasar.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) on learning outcomes in elementary school fifth grade students . Hj Isriati Baiturrahman 1 Semarang. Model of Problem Based Learning ( PBL ) is a teaching model that is characterized by a real problem as the context for the students to learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as gain knowledge. Model PBL focuses on presenting a problem ( real or simulated ) to students , then students are asked to find a solution through a series of studies and investigations based on the theory , concepts , principles learned from various disciplines (multiple perspective). Learning theory supports that model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) is suitable to be applied in primary schools : theory Jerome Brunner invention known as discovery learning . The characteristics of this model according to the characteristics of elementary school students , with the advantages and disadvantages. It can be concluded that the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) effective on learning outcomes in primary school students .
