Abstract


Coffee is one of the main products in the subsector plantations in Indonesia which has strategic value. The problem faced is that the quality of coffee in Indonesia is low. One way to improve the quality of coffee is to improve post-harvest handling. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the post-harvest handling of coffee farmer level according to GMP (Good Manufacturer Practices). The experiment was conducted in July to September 2012. The research location was in Wonokerso Village, Pringsurat, Temanggung. The respondents were 20 cofee farmers were selected purposively. The results showed that the average of the highest suitability level of the post -harvest handling was in drying process (79.38%) and the lowest at harvesting process (26.67%) followed by stripping and sorting (33.33%), meanwhile for storing process was 8.13%. Recommendations of this study is the need for dissemination to farmers how to harvest and post-harvest handling in accordance with GMP, especially harvesting process.
