Abstract


Consequences from the food westernization among adolescents is an increase more malnutrition cases. Study in Semarang showed no relationship between nutrition knowledge with the frequency of eating fast food at SMU Negeri I Semarang. Most teens consume fast food with a frequency of 3-5 times in one month. The research aims to determine the pattern of consumption of fast food as a result of westernization. This study was an observational study with cross sectional design. Westernization food consumption patterns were stidied about the frequency and the contents of nutrition in some of the types. Nutritional status variables were calculated based on weight and height. The research instrument used is the digital scale, microtoa, and questionnaires. The technique of collecting data through observation and structured interview. Analysis of the data presented descriptively using SPSS. The results obtained were 12.4% of adolescents experience more nutrition, but 95.4% often consume fast food with criteria more than 4 times a month. Pizza was westernization food with high-energy number. Most teenagers like food westernization and make it as mandatory menu as well as a symbol of a luxurious lifestyle in order to get the recognition of the group.
