Abstract


The evaluation in schools still dominated by a written test, especially speed test. This study aims to determine the differences between students' mathematics learning outcomes given power test with the given speed test in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Denpasar year 2014/2015. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP Negeri 4 Denpasar, as many as 332 people with a sample of 88 students' taken by simple random sampling technique, but randomized is class. This study is an experimental research (quasi experimental) with non-equivalent control group design. Data of mathematics learning outcomes was collected using mathematics achievement test. The data was then analyzed using t-test.These results indicate that there are differences students' mathematics learning outcomes between students given power test with the given speed test in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Denpasar school year 2014/2015. Have suggested to educators, especially teachers to choose the most appropriate evaluation for accessing student learning outcomes.Keywords: power test, speed test, lesson statistics, mathematics learning outcomes
