Abstract


Mathematics is a study which have abstract materials and it is built through deductive reasoning process, the truth of a concept is obtained as a logical result of the truth previously been received, so the relationship between concepts in mathematics are very strong and clear. In the implementation of the teaching and learning of Mathematics in elementary school of course used a variety of methods adapted to the material presented by educators or teachers. It is intended if there is problems and difficulties in learning mathematics, it will be easily solved. In this case the author is using Action Research. This Action Research consists of two cycles, they are the first cycle and the second cycle. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was conducted in six graders of SD Negeri Pandean Lamper 04 Semarang in the second semester of the school year 2015/2016. The collection of data in the cycle I and II used analysis both qualitatively and quantitatively. This study aims to improve student achievement in learning mathematics through the academic supervision of teachers. The results showed that with the academic supervision student achievement increased by 35.6%. The results of students' average increase from 60.75 into 82.38 by improving student achievement. It can be concluded that the presence of the academic supervision can improve student achievement. Therefore it is expected that teachers are always improving their ability in learning so that the quality of education in primary schools is increasing.
