Abstrak

Latar belakang yang mendorong penelitian ini adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa rendah pada mata pelajaran IPS. Guru dalam menyampaikan materi belum menggunakan model pembelajaran yang efektif dan belum berinovasi menggunakan media pembelajaran.Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah  apakah model problem based learning berbantu media kliping efektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan model problem based learning berbantu media kliping untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Pre Experimental Designs dengan bentuk One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Sampel yang diambil adalah 30 siswa, yaitu semua anggota populasi  menggunakan teknik Sampling Jenuh. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dapat mencapai ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 90% dengan rata-rata nilai pretest 58,0 dan nilai rata-rata posttest 77,8. Hasil analisis tes keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menunjukan uji-t diperoleh bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu sebesar 18,832 > 2,045, sehingga dapat disimpulkan Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya model problem based learning berbantu media kliping efektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang.

Abstract

The background of this research motivated by the lack of the students’ critical thinking skill in social sciences subject. In delivering the material the teacher didn’t use effecttive model learning process and the teacher didn’t use the innovation in media learning process.The problem in this study, whether is of Problem Based Learning model collaborated with clippings media is effective to develop the students’ critical thinking skill of class IV in SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang? The purpose of this research is to know how the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning Model collaborated with clippings media to develop the students’ critical thinking skill of class IV in SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang. Type of this research is experimental research use quantitative approach in the Pre Experimental Design with One Group PretestPosttest Design. The population of the research is all the students of class IV in SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang consist of 30 students. The sample are 30 students, that all the population used sampling saturate technique. The data in this research were obtained by tests, observation and documentation. The result of the research is showed that the student can get exhaustiveness of the study classical amount 90% with value average of pretest 58,0 and value average of posttest 77,8. The result of test analysis critical thinking skills showed that T-test by the value of tcount > ttable amount 18,832 > 2,045, So it can be conclude that Ho be rejected and Ha be accepted, it means that of Problem Based Learning Model with clippings media effective to develop the students’ critical thinking skill of class IV in SD Negeri Tlogosari Kulon 05 Semarang.
