ABSTRAK

Latar belakang yang mendorong penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat siswa dalam belajar yang menyebabkan kurang aktifnya siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika sehingga hasil belajar matematika siswa belum mencapai KKM yaitu 66. Di samping itu pembelajaran matematika belum menggunakan pendekatan atau media yang sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan.  Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar matematika sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)? (2) apakah hasil belajar matematika telahmencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) secara klasikal? Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap hasil belajar matematika materi bangun datar pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri 01 Mulyoharjo Pemalang dilihat pada ketuntasan belajar dan hasil belajar.  Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dalam bentuk Pre Experimental Design dengan Design One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas III SD Negeri 01 Mulyoharjo Pemalang. Sampel yang diambil adalah 30 siswa kelas III dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Hasil analisis observasi siswa menunjukkan bahwa presentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal posttest (79,3%) sedangkan presentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal pretest (59,0%), serta berdasarkan hasil uji t hasil belajar diketahui thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (6,872 >1,699). Kesimpulannya bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini saran yang dapat disampaikan adalah supaya pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif guru dalam mengajar khususnya pada materi bangun datar sehingga dapat meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The encouraging background of this study isnlow interest of students in learning that causes less active students in learning mathematics so the results of learning mathematics students have not reached the KKM is 66. In addition, mathematics learning has not been using the approach or media in accordance with the material being taught.  The problems in this research are (1) is there any difference of mathematics learning result before and after using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach? (2) whether the result of mathematics learning has reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) in classical? The objective of this research is to know the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to the learning result of mathematics of flat wake material on the third grade students of SD Negeri 01 Mulyoharjo Pemalang seen in the completeness of learning and learning outcomes.  This type of research is quantitative research in the form of Pre Experimental Design with Design Group One Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research is all students of class III SD Negeri 01 Mulyoharjo Pemalang. Samples taken were 30 students of class III by using saturated sampling technique. The data in this research is obtained from observation, interview, documentation, and test. The result of student observation analysis shows that the percentage of learning completeness classical posttest (79,3%) while the completion percentage of pretest class learning (59,0%), and based on t test result of learning result known tcount bigger than ttable (6,872> 1,699). The conclusion is that the approach of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is effective on student learning outcomes.  Based on the results of this study the suggestion that can be delivered is that the approach of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) can be used as an alternative teacher in teaching, especially on the wake-up material so that it can increase interest and student learning outcomes.
