Abstract


The x-ray exposure to patients has been a major concern since the introduction of computed tomography (CT) in the 1970s. CT scanner is an image modality to support a diagnosis of an abnormality using x-ray and be able to make slices of internals organ without cut the tissues. Yet, since CT-scanners employ ionizing x-ray beam as the source of imaging light, protection against its damaging effects must be observed closely to ensure that the harmful effects to patients are minimum. Therefore, we need to the roles of medical physicists in medicine in the evolution of the quality of dose CT scan. This research for solve noise from low-dose image quality CT scan by using different low-pass filter method with matlab simulation program to reduce noise from the image human body. From the simulation, we have the results of the data that shows using low-pass filter method increases the image quality.
