Diversification of Processed Catfish to Improve Prosperity of Catfish Cultivators Groups in Sedayu Village

Abstract


Mugi Rahayu and Mugi Raharjo are groups of catfish cultivators in Sedayu Village Grobogan Sub-District Grobogan District Central Java Province. The harvest from the cultivation of catfish of these group are usually sold as fresh catfish to the community around or to the middleman with a low price so it is not sufficient operational costs. The purpose of this activity is to provide diversification training of catfish processed so that the selling value is higher than before so as to improve the prosperity of the group members. The method used is to provide training processing catfish into catfish crackers, catfish bone sticks, and catfish head crackers to the members of the group. Assistance in production as well as training the basics of business management and marketing both online and offline are also implemented as a compliment in starting a business. Training activities to diversify processed catfish have been successfully implemented and the trainees gain skills in starting a business. Product diversification processed catfish is expected to increase the added value of fresh catfish which were previously sold at low prices.
