Abstract


UPGRIS-Farm is one of PGRI University business units which focuses on agriculture and fishery. UPGRIS-Farm has not been maximized to its full potential which indicates that it needs further improvement. The purpose of this activity is to develop and improve UPGRIS-Farm to become the business unit providing financial benefit to the university. The improvement can be achieved through supplying raw materials for production, improving production facility, improving the production capacity, diversification, improving the management, and improving the marketing. Several promising results have been achieved such as increasing available supply for vegetables fish including seeds, fertilizer and high quality fish food; increasing production facility for vegetables and fresh fish including the recently added fish pond, establishing a green house, and three hydroponic instalation units; adding three new businesses, namely, hydroponic store, hydroponic training and edu-tourism; applying the open management system; and improving marketing strategy. All in all, it can be concluded that PPUPIK’s activities are able to improve and empower UPGRIS-Farm business unit with the purpose of earning more income to PGRI University Semarang and motivating the UPGRIS-Farm  unit itself. Thus, such activity needs to be continued in the mentioned unit or other units.
